Records was started by Harry Carlson and silent partner Dr. Ashton Welsh
in 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The first hit was local girl Cathy Carr's
rendition of a Tin Pan Alley song, "Ivory Tower" in 1956.
Harry Carlson retired in 1975 and sold the label to country performer Shad O'Shea. In 2008, Shad O'Shea sold Fraternity Records & Counterpart records to Victor Piagneri, with the promise that he would keep the labels active. |
